RL with Yukiko, backdated to August 2

[At the end of a relatively successful maybe-date-depending-on-which-of-the-two-you-ask...]

As the credits began to roll, the lights in the theater came back on. Karen glanced down at herself and brushed away some bits of popcorn clinging to her shirt before turning to look at Yukiko.

Yukiko had not, originally, liked action movies. They weren't bad! They just weren't really her thing. Years and years of being exposed to them by Chie had changed that, over time, and now she genuinely did enjoy them. Not as much as Chie did...but then, that was probably impossible.

When the lights came on, she was sorry the movie was over, and sank back into her seat with a faint smile on her face before turning to Karen. "That was very good! I'm sorry I did not see it when it came out in my own world."

"Yes, it was enjoyable to see a movie with someone new." Yukiko stood, wanting to help Karen with the bags but the other girl had gotten them up before she could. Had they really eaten that many?

"I don't go out much without Chie, honestly, so...this was nice."

Oh no, icon repeitition! We're all doooooomed.

Yukiko was mostly just worried she'd eaten more popcorn than she realized. She's a bit of a worry-wart about her weight, despite being so thin.

Yukiko nodded in agreement and turned to walk out of the aisle, smoothing down her skirt once she had enough room to really move around. "Yes. I'm usually too busy to make a lot of friends." She has a genuinely happy little smile on her face. "I know the community is a pain, but sometimes I'm quite happy it found me."

I do it if I have to...emotionally. But I don't like to either.

"There are also several people from my hometown there now, which is rather strange." Yukiko exited the theatre, peering around as she went. Despite the fact that it was in essence just another Japan, Yukiko was fascinated by this place. She'd only been on two worlds besides her own, including this one.

"Really? You seem like you would have friends, you're quite friendly on the community..."

Wow. You posted it or someone else?

[identity profile] priestessbound.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
"I doubt that. It's...a very dull town. The only thing interesting that happened lately is the fact that it's foggier lately." Yukiko shook her head, her hands folding behind her back, fingers curling and uncurling absently as they walked. She did see a number of interesting places, and she'd slow, peering over at them, but not actually head there.

"Oh, I guess I can understand that. Before here, Chie was really my only friend anymore. There are some other students at school I talk to but..." She just shrugged.

Well, there are...lots of shades of certain emotions?

Yukiko shifted faintly, pausing to point at a nearby park. "Would you mind if we go over there?"

"If I lived in the city, I don't know if I'd think it was as empty as I do Inaba." Yukiko actually liked Inaba. She just wished more things happened there, honestly. More excuses to not always be helping out at the inn. "Komachi?"

Apparently not.

Yukiko blinks at Karen's apparent confusion with the language, frowning at her for a moment. "Are you alright?" She asks, leaning forward slightly to study the other. Talk of friendship and parks forgotten for the moment. "If you aren't I can head home now..."

*patpat*

[identity profile] priestessbound.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
"A-alright..." Yukiko was easily dragged along...this was a familiar mode of travel for her, really, since Chie was often dragging her about. Though, to be fair, she tended to drag Chie about occasionally herself.

"So who is Komachi?" She said once she had steadied herself enough to just walk next to Karen, her arm presumably still captured.

Go you!

[identity profile] priestessbound.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yukiko doesn't seem to notice the wandering hand, though her arm relaxing a bit when that group is loosened. "Oh, I see. It was like that with my friend Chie for a while, she didn't post. But then she found it...except she hasn't been posting much..."

Yukiko trailed off and shook her head. "A writer? That sounds exciting. What does she want to write about?" Is Yukiko making small talk? Pretty much. As they reach the park, her eyes go wandering around, trying to spot differences between her world and this one. She really couldn't...but she couldn't resist trying, either.

I totally fell asleep.

[identity profile] priestessbound.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Pirates during a hurricane does sound very exciting." Yukiko nodded absently as they walked, and seemingly didn't seem to notice or be very concerned about Karen holding her hand.

"Ah, no, I don't believe I've met them...why? Oh, that's pretty." In fact, as they reached the park, Karen would find it is Yukiko tugging her hand, as she tugs her over to look at a particular flower bush.

Side effect of having a laptop and wireless.

[identity profile] priestessbound.livejournal.com 2009-08-14 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I see. I'm sure I'll meet them sooner or later." Yukiko's voice was absent, distant as she admired the bush, then she turned and moved down the path, tugging Karen along.

"Have you told your friend, the writer, about the community?" Yukiko was never sure what the procedure was for things like that. She hadn't told Chie because she thought her friend would think she was crazy, but then Chie found it anyway...

[identity profile] priestessbound.livejournal.com 2009-08-14 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Do you really think it can affect people like that?" Yukiko frowned, pausing as she walked. "The viruses never seem that...subtle. To wipe someones memory..." She shook her head. She thought about the nature of the community occasionally, though she couldn't make heads or tails of it.

"Are there any interesting other things to see here in the park?" Yukiko asked absently, waving her free hand about.

[identity profile] priestessbound.livejournal.com 2009-08-14 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh..." Yukiko frowned, her mind racing, and she drew her hand away from Karen's without seemingly thinking about it, her arms curling around her waist. "You mean....if I were to leave for some reason, and come back, there's a chance I wouldn't remember the people I've met or the things I've done?" She looked quite uncomfortable with that idea.
