"If you leave it, that defeats the whole purpose of coming here in the first place." Time to put her theory to the test. "Besides, it's from Ty Lee, so you don't want to lose it."
She gave her an annoyed look. "What makes you think it's from Ty Lee? And besides, it's just a necklace. I only bothered to come after it to make a point."
"It's obvious. But, if you insist..." Concentrating on the idea that this would make Azula uncomfortable to keep her mind off how much she wasn't excited about it herself, Karen put the necklace over Azula's head. Instead of pulling her arms back, though, she put them around her, in what a casual observer might have understandably mistaken for a hug rather than what it really was, which was (of course) a way to ensure she wouldn't leave without her. "Let's go."
"You're being creepy," Azula retorted. "And wait a moment." She pulled her arm away once more, then busied herself with tucking the necklace underneath her shirt, so that it wasn't visible (or snatchable).
"No, just a jewelry thief," Azula replied smoothly, before worldhopping them both to a small, out-of-the-way Fire Nation prison guarded by only a few soldiers and housing- at the moment- only a single prisoner.
Karen braced herself. Sure enough, there was almost immediately a storm of babble about how a real student council president wouldn't let the students be kidnapped by crazy cosplaying stalkers although it was really the government's fault for not being tough enough on important crimes and wasting time shutting down her favorite file-sharing sites.
"Your point? Besides, it's not as if she's listening." Azula gave the girl a shove towards Karen. "I'm going to have to hold both of your arms to take you back."
Karen caught her, upon which Midori started going on about how she could have been seriously hurt if Minazuki-senpai hadn't been there to catch her and Azula was going to hear from her lawyer. Karen shrugged and held out her arm.
Azula grabbed both girls roughly by the forearm- then, after a moment's hesitation, looped her arm through Karen's so that her hand was free to hold the worldhopping feather.
"... What makes you think that that necklace was a gift from Ty Lee?"
She rolled her eyes. "I went to a lot of trouble to prove a point And I don't recall saying anything about the caliber of it as a gift." She ignored Midori's near-hysterical rantings about how she had been kidnapped by an evil lesbian.

"I knew you'd see things my way eventually. Now, the necklace."

"I'll let go when I see Midori-san."

Karen did an impressive job of not looking like she wanted to avoid the second option at all costs.

"We have to touch for the worldhop anyway, right? Just hurry up and take me."

There was more to it than that, but she didn't see any reason to give Azula more details on her thought process.
