oceanicbutterfly: (dragged along)
Apparently Kurumi has a very severe case of stage fright, so now I get dragged into doing this "Five de Chance" show with everyone. Even though I was very specific about not wanting to play when we went over this last week.

Wish me luck. No pun intended.

The Nightmares attacked again at the wedding. It shouldn't even have had anything to do with Pretty Cure. Just a man marrying a woman who happens to be friends with Madoka-san. But since we were there... I feel like it's our fault it happened.

At least the bride's tiara looked good. Rin really did a good job on it.

Milk caught the bouquet. How were we supposed to explain that?

[Ick, even after that planning session a while back, we've managed to get even further behind. I'm just assuming the first half of this episode happened a while back, probably immediately after ep31 as part of Pretty Cure Romance-Fest.

This is visible to everyone who knows Karen is Cure Aqua, although Azula will have to hack her way in if for some reason she wants to comment.]

Nozomi was right. Apparently, she found what she thought was some old stuffed animal on her way to school. It turns out it was actually someone from Palmier! Milk (that's her name) was pretending to be a toy so she could steal food from some unsuspecting victim. I'm going to have to have a talk with her about that...

I'm also going to have to have a talk with Nozomi about trying to strangle people you've just met. Nozomi and Milk obviously started out on the wrong foot, and it's all gone downhill from there. Even Rin and I get along better than this... I hope they can learn to at least tolerate each other, because they're going to be stuck with each other for a while.

Nozomi was ranting earlier about how someone stole her lunch. Not her lunchbox, just the lunch from inside it.

Personally, I figure she just ate it and then forgot.

We were all getting so excited about Urara's concert that we completely neglected to consider how Urara felt. She's not really "nervous" so much as "absolutely terrified," especially since she has to write a song over the next few days so she'll have something to sing.

She ran out a while ago. Nozomi's probably found her by now... we should meet them as they come back.

We're thinking of seeing a movie together, to help her cheer up.
oceanicbutterfly: (embarassed)

I don't know the details yet--I'll post as soon as I know. Nozomi and Rin came in with this ridiculous banner (and they want to make an even bigger one at my house--fortunately I talked them into letting me redesign it), and Masuko-san is trying to make up a cheer. She says that's a normal thing to do at events like this, and she'd know, so

GTG, the others want me to join in the cheer? I'll post again later.

As it turns out, Urara was planning to try cooking her mother's curry recipe. I said earlier she couldn't remember her well, but apparently one of the few memories was of eating curry together. The book she was carrying around--it's a cookbook!

It's sad to think that this is the only thing she can do in her mother's memory, especially since the rest of us just now found out. But I'm glad she's all right.

Oh, and for the record, the curry was amazing.

[OOC: The name of the book is not "To Serve Man."]

So, today we all got to meet Urara's family. Her father and grandfather came to NattsHouse. Both of them are from France, though they speak Japanese well. (Though neither of those stopped Nozomi from mangling several English phrases in an attempt to greet them.) They seem like good people, if a bit quirky.

I can't remember who it was that asked Urara about her mother. But as it turns out, she's dead.

Urara is very open about it, and doesn't seem to get upset or anything about the subject. She says she was too young when her mother died to really remember her well enough to miss her. So it didn't bother her to talk about it.

I wish I could say the same thing about myself. I used to think it was okay that I can only see my parents once a year, since I still get to see them and I can talk to them on the phone anytime. But now I'm scared that something will happen to them before I can see them again. I know it's not likely, certainly no likelier than it was before I knew about Urara's mother, but I just can't stop thinking about it.

Urara's acting strange lately. She's been quieter than usual, and she's started carrying around this book for no apparent reason.

I wonder if something's wrong?
oceanicbutterfly: (mad)
Her article is full of pictures of me freaking out.

And after I went to so much trouble for her. I have half a mind to take that camera of hers and sh... and keep it until she apologizes.

"Respecting my privacy," I said. Ha.

I think Masuko-san let it slide in an attempt to get on my good side, so she'd have an easier time twisting my arm into letting her interview me about my private life. My private life! Why would the school newspaper need an article about that?

All things considered, though, that wasn't the bad part. The bad part was repeatedly discovering a certain group of four girls who apparently think "Masuko-san wants to interview me alone, so stay away" means "please come over and be ridiculously obvious about trying to spy on me." And what was with those costumes? Unsurprisingly, Nozomi makes a pretty good clown, but why?
